Azekel Releases New Video For “Linger”

Azekiel (Massive Attack Collaborator) shares his video for “Linger”. The track is taken from his second EP “Raw Vol 2” which marks the end of his 2 part EP series. “Raw Vol 1” deals with the complexities and emotions of falling in and out of love, whereas “Raw Vol 2” shows social commentary as the overriding theme for the record.

Azekiel mixes his collection of observations with a blues-infected electronic RnB instrumental.

Azekiel has stated “Linger is a song where I wanted to express the qualities of a relationship that are often invisible to everyone but the two people involved…where there is a spiritual presence and other worldly closeness between a couple that transcends just the physical. Gospel music became an influence on the presentation of this song too, not in its musicality necessarily – but more in the way that it expresses faith in a way that is beyond the traditional.”

Raw Vol 2 was recorded at the legendary Abbey Road Studios (used by The Beatles and Pink Floyd) and will aim to show Azekiel as being one of the rawest and most exciting British acts at the minute. Azekiel is set to perform alongside Massive Attack at this years British Summertime Festival at Hyde Park. Azekiel has also received over 5 million streams on Spotify and slots on Glastonbury Festival (BBC Introducing Stage), sessions recorded at Maida Vale and performing at the New Yorker Magazine Festival.
