Mistress for Christmas – Halestorm [Single]

Mistress for Christmas is the latest single from Halestorm, released on 21st November. The original was released by AC/DC in 1990. Lzzy Hale‘s vocals really suit the song well, and the group put a fresh twist on an old classic. It’s slightly faster than AC/DC‘s version, however Hale channels the same vocal style that that Brian Johnson does. Halestorm‘s version has more energy and is more enjoyable for the average listener.

The B Side single to Mistress for Christmas is I Like It Heavy, originally released in 2015 on Halestorm‘s album Into The Wild Life, but this version contains guest vocals from country star Eric Church. Church sings the second verse and backing vocals in the chorus. Otherwise there isn’t too much that is different from the original version. It would have been nice to hear more musical differences between the two versions, but it just sounds like Church‘s vocals have been mixed over the top of the original version.
