Sad news at Core Blimey on Saturday Night at Crewe’s biggest venue The Box as local girl Steph Shevlin sadly died on Saturday night.
Reportedly the girl had taken the drug MDMA (a version of Ecstasy) when she had a heart attack. She was transported to nearby Leighton Hospital, but later died. The girl was attending the event Core Blimey which is a local DJ night put on by The Box as a monthly event.
The event was stopped just short of Shevlin collapsing in the venue at 1:50 AM. Core Blimey have also reportedly stopped putting nights on at the venue stating
“We at Core Blimey would like to share our deepest condolences to the girl that lost her life Saturday night. Our thoughts go out to her family and friends through this sad time.
“As a result, and to be fair we have been thinking about it for a while we will be cancelling all future CB events indefinitely.
“We’ve had some amazing times and we would like to say Thank you to every one of you for your support and for smashing every event with us.”
The Box have also commented on the death of Shevlin through the quote
“Management and Directors of The Box are deeply saddened by this tragic incident.
Our thoughts are with the family and friends of Steph Shevlin at this time and we are fully assisting the Police with their investigation.
If anyone has any information please contact Cheshire Police.”
It is believed that more than Shevlin took the drug at the venue and police are urging many who took the drug to report to local hospitals and medical staff due to the drug being deemed as unsafe.
It is with a heavy heart that we wish her girlfriend Ann Roberts and the Shevlin family the best during this time.
A gofundme page has been set up to raise money for the girls funeral, if you wish to contribute the link is below – https://www.gofundme.com/282y2bak
