10 Tunes To Light Up Bonfire Night

In preparation for the flame-fest on Saturday, here are some pretty big fire-related tunes to help out with rocking Bonfire Night away!

Crown The Empire – Burn

CTE‘s cover of the Ellie Goulding hit was released on Punk Goes Pop Vol. 6 alongside some of the biggest names in rock at the moment, and it is a great rendition in its own right.

Billy Joel – We Didn’t Start the Fire

While not the most traditional rock track, Billy Joel has to be on the playlist. As one of the most talented solo musicians around, it is hardly surprising this song became the absolute classic it has.

Nickelback – Burn It To The Ground

While a potentially controversial choice, this Nickelback track is one of the better ones from their catalogue. Chad and the boys clearly had another reason to write this track but it seems close enough to the Guy Fawkes spirit for the list.

PVRIS – Fire

Aside from the fact a PVRIS show burns every venue to the ground, this absolute anthem will be sure to get everyone in the spirit to douse a garden in petrol and light it up to celebrate the bonfire festivities tonight…

Metallica – Moth Into Flame

As the second single from the upcoming Metallica album, this track is metal mastery at its finest. Put this in the playlist for a serious mosh at midnight to drown out all those fireworks all over the place.

Avenged Sevenfold – Shepherd of Fire

As Avenged Sevenfold are all the rage at the moment, it seemed like a good plan to throw in a reminder of just how good this track is. Coupled with that Metallica track, use wisely to liven up the night when the party gets a bit down.

Fall Out Boy – My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark (Light Em Up)

As one of FOB‘s greatest hits to date, Light Em Up has become a fan favourite across the world and helped them gain some of their “household name” status. Oh, and there are some pretty big flames in the video…

Earth, Wind & Fire – September

Slightly cheating, but this classic dance track is one of the best tracks of the 70s definitely. Use to finish off Bonfire Night or get the party started, for this one is useful at any point throught a night.

Tonight Alive – The Fire

Who doesn’t need some emotional pop punk in their bonfire party playlist? Answer: nobody. Tonight Alive are a definite staple in any playlist and there are few in their catalogue that beat the aptly named The Fire.

The Prodigy – Firestarter

This track became one of the most extreme yet fantastic products of the 90s: a video that puts even the most twisted mind on edge mixed with a furious electronic rock song seems to win people over? Can’t imagine why…
