The Lotus, who commenced their career in Italy in 2004, have been slowly but surely building their name as a proficient alt-rock band. Having toured around the UK, Europe and America, The Lotus have worked incessantly to spread their brand.
The new single, Mars-X sees them capitalise on their impressive influences, including Queen, Radiohead and more. Weaving space rock with some more classic elements, The Lotus have procured a huge and melodic sound on this single.
The Lotus are working on their second studio album with Paul Reeve (of Muse), and Mars-X is the first peek at the expansive sound the band are creating here.
Without further ado, here is Mars-X. Get familiar, because The Lotus will be playing shows around Europe in the near future.

If you’ve ever seen Kate Pavli‘s covers of tracks such as Evanescence and Foo Fighters, then you will be really excited to hear her new band Finding Kate!
Bringing a beautiful array of alternative rock with this new single ‘Forever‘, there is a great mixture of emotional verses and punchy choruses to boot. Kate’s voice flows over each section accompanied by the piano before the rest of the instrumentation provides something very enjoyable and matching that of a veteran band.
We here at Musicology have the privilege of giving you an exclusive listen/look at the new single/music video for said track. You can check it out below and make sure to pick up the album ‘If I Fall‘ on November 18th.

Sheffield based Air Drawn Dagger released their latest EP Ours For The Taking…Theirs For The Breaking in the early part of last month. The bands own mix of Electronic Alt-Rock has gotten them a lot of buzz and support, since the release of their debut EP, not only from their slowly mounting cult fan base but also from BBC Introducing.
The latest release by the band was a far more conceptual based idea, following the story line of a group of young characters who are attempting to escape a dystopian town. Yet at the same time the band manages to deal with some very stressing matters through the songs instrumentation and lyrics.
The future seems to be quite bright for Air Drawn Dagger with a planned string of singles which will be released under the label The Animal Farm. Alongside plans of constant touring there will be plenty of chance to catch them live.
Today at Musicology we have the pleasure of premiering Air Drawn Dagger’s brand new and exclusive video for the starting track on this latest release Ours for The Taking… . Check out the video below.
Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes are well known to put on a vicious stage show as well as record some seriously angry material, so when Snake Eyes debuted on Radio 1 last week, many were slightly confused by the more mellowed sound than the likes of Devil Inside Me from their debut album Blossom, but the video they have just put out demonstrated it is more than what meets the ear.
The video sees an angry Frank screaming in a red-out screen with an animal skull while a woman dances around and smashes a chair up in front of it, before a big revelation comes. Yes, really.
